Competition Categories You can submit an application into one of these four categories:
1. Enterprise Applications
The Enterprise applications category can include an application or solution
  • that gives mobile workers real-time access to information and co-workers
  • that enables cost-efficient life-cycle management of mobile business devices in enterprise management
  • that lets mobile workers access business process-specific information and systems
  • that integrates mobile and fixed telephony in a cost efficient way and offers enhanced set of office phone features for mobile business users
  • that allows business users find practical solutions to real-world problems.
2. Location aware applications and services
The Location aware applications and services category can include any innovative, lucrative-to-consumer, easy-to-use standalone or client-server application, which uses automated positioning (BT GPS, GPS, A-GPS, network based positioning) and/or maps. We welcome entries in areas such as
  • Local search navigation and travel
  • Gaming, entertainment, music
  • Outdoor and sports
  • Enterprise
  • Imaging & person created content
3. Mobile Music applications
The focus of the Mobile Music applications category is on applications that provide delight and value to music consumers, when they play, manage, and share their music collections. Applications in this category should address one or more of the following:
  • Superior usability of music application (task flow, views.)
  • Innovative playback or collection management experience
  • Combining usage types, combining various media
  • Sharing play lists, information or experiences about music
4. Flash applications
The Flash category includes Macromedia Flash Lite applications with Flash mobile technology. The applications can be
  • Gaming, Media and Entertainment
  • Tutorials and Interactive Help
  • Personal and Enterprise Productivity
  • Experimental / other
Please read the eligibility requirements below, which you must meet before submitting an application to any of the above categories.
Eligibility requirements for contestants
  • Contestant must be a company (no private person can register)
  • Open for companies registered in a country within the following regions; APAC, China, Americas, Europe, Middle East & Africa)
  • Fits one of the competition categories
  • Several submissions per category are eligible but each application can be submitted only to one category
  • Format and sizes of applications as defined with the Series 60 Platform standards
  • Application submissions must be C++ or Flash Lite for Symbian OS v. 9.1
  • Submissions can be in concept phase at start but must be ready for launch by end of competition
  • Applications may be upgraded from S60 2nd Edition to S60 3rd Edition, or can be completely new applications
  • Application submissions must run on GSM technology
  • Applications must support the English language, at a minimum
  • For the Developers who participated in the Forum Nokia Series 60 3rd Edition Early Access Program and had their applications selected to be embedded in devices: please note that these applications are not eligible to be submitted to this competition. All other applications from Early Access developers are eligible
  • No purchase or admission fee is necessary to participate
  • Contestant must own all necessary rights (including but not limited to intellectual property rights) in the submission, and all material in the submission, to allow anyone use the submission and the material in the manner set out in the contestant?s overview
  • The submission and the material in the submission cannot be an invasion of privacy, or breach confidence, or be defamatory, racist or libelous
  • Adult content is not accepted
  • The submission and the material in the submission cannot infringe trademark law and cannot misrepresent an association or connection to some person, brand or thing that is not actually there.
  • All Flash application submissions including the winning applications can be used by Macromedia for non-commercial sales and marketing activities (Demos and screenshots). Also, all Flash application submissions will be made available online for download from the Macromedia Mobile Exchange

Evaluation Criteria
A Jury, consisting of representatives from Macromedia, Symbian and Nokia will evaluate the eligible entries of each category based on their quality, benefits and creativity.

Finalists and winners will be selected by discussion and, if needed, voting.

The Jury's decision is final. Because of the number of submissions, it will not be possible to reply to each contestant with individual evaluations, and no correspondence will be entered into.

The members of the Jury may be subject to change without notice.
Technical Support
Forum Nokia will provide the technical support during this competition:
  • The first 25 companies to submit their registration will get 2 free of charge technical support requests during the competition
    • 1 free support request during January 2006
    • 1 free support request during February 2006
    • The 25 companies will be contacted separately with support details after the registration for the competition ends
  • For the rest of the companies, technical support will be provided normally through www.forum.nokia.com/support
